3D Model Creation for PVsyst
Reliable near-shading analysis in PVsyst starts with an accurate 3D scene. Render-a prepares project geometry for the PVsyst workflow: download a DAE file for direct import into a PVsyst 3D scene, or use SKP or GLB for SketchUp-based work.
Export formats for PVsyst planning
- DAE (Collada): Recommended for direct PVsyst 3D scene import.
- SKP: A native SketchUp file for teams that need to review, edit or enrich the model.
- GLB: A compact, portable 3D model for visualisation and compatible workflows.
PVsyst imports DAE directly. SKP and GLB are not imported into PVsyst as they are; use them in SketchUp or other 3D tools, then export DAE for PVsyst if needed.
Why use Render-a with PVsyst?
- Prepare a 3D scene without rebuilding roofs, buildings and site context manually.
- Start near-shading studies from a stronger spatial foundation.
- Use one source model across SketchUp and PVsyst workflows.
Recommended workflow
- Upload project imagery or site data to Render-a.
- Download DAE for PVsyst, SKP for SketchUp or GLB for portable use.
- Import the DAE file and review scale, orientation, materials and PV-object settings.
Technical note
PVsyst scene data is not a completed electrical design. Your project engineer should verify scale, surfaces, roof inclination, obstacles and PV table definitions after import.
